The following is an overview of the courses and assignments required to complete this unit. The Unit will take you at least 2 weeks to complete, but you have up to 180 days to access and complete the Unit requirements.

Courses
- 7.75 hours: Includes passing the course exam (70% or higher).
- What will you learn? Review the core concepts behind this communication approach to help others engage with what motivates them to make important behavior changes. Practice identifying change or sustain talk, aspects of motivation, and the stages/process of helping someone change. View 2 unique demonstration videos of clinical interactions using a motivational approach (MI). Practice moving away from a directive approach.
- Assignment & Report End the course with an activity where you will practice MI choosing 1 of 4 options and report on your experience.
- 6 hours: Includes completing the Self-Care assignment and report
- What will you learn? Explore the many ways relationships can have healing qualities, starting with patient-centered partnering in health between the practitioner and patient. Reflect on the role of suffering in health and how to move towards healing and transformation. Dive deep into important aspects to consider in healing relationships - including mindfulness, compassion, self-awareness, intention and presence. Address the role of healing relationships in organizations and in health care teams. The course ends with a Self-Care module on relationships.
- Self-care Assignment & Report: Be sure to complete all the healing Relationships coursework, including the course evaluation, before you apply your learning in this Self-care module. Complete your Relationship Assessments and Goals Worksheet (this is for your own personal use and will not be turned in or shared). After two weeks of trying your self-care practices in this area, return and answer the report questions online.

- What will you learn? An introduction to the role of sleep in overall health and wellbeing. Get an overview of sleep disorders, red flags and screening processes to indicate when someone should seek professional assistance. Explore a variety of lifestyle and integrative approaches to healthy sleep. Watch a lecture on the importance of dreaming for health and wellness by renowned sleep expert, Rubin Naiman, PhD.
- Self-care Assignment & Report: Be sure to complete all the Sleep and Dream Health coursework, including the evaluation and exam before you apply your learning in this Self-care module. Complete your Sleep Assessments and Goals Worksheet (this is for your own personal use and will not be turned in or shared). After two weeks of trying your self-care practices in this area, return and answer the report questions online.
- 1.75 Hours: Includes passing the course exam (70% or higher) and completing the Self-Care assignment and report
- What will you learn? Review the role of physical activity in health, including the burden of inactivity, an integrative approach, barriers to activity, and considerations around special populations. Special attention is focused on yoga and tai chi practices for health, as well as a review of the current activity recommendations for health promotion.
- 1 hour: Complete the Self-Care assignment and report
- Self-care Assignment & Report: Be sure to complete all the physical activity coursework, including the evaluation and exam before you apply your learning in this Self-care module. Complete your Movement Assessments and Goals Worksheet (this is for your own personal use and will not be turned in or shared). After two weeks of trying your self-care practices in this area, return and answer the report questions online.

- What will you learn? Explore the history of aromatherapy including the power and function of our sense of smell. Learn ten popular essential oils, research available, and methods for using them. Patient case scenarios help you explore the use of aromatherapy as a potential tool in integrative health care.
- 7 hours: Includes passing the course exam (70% or higher)
- What will you learn? This follow-up course to Aromatherapy & Health, you will build on your knowledge by learning the principles behind blending essential oils (EOS). Explore 5 additional EOS – expanding on your own materia medica. Get a materials prep list, test your understanding of top, middle and base notes, review carrier oils and practice 1% and 2% dilution blends. Check out first aid blending formulas then learn about hydrosols. Wrap up with 3 new patient cases.
